Hi there.
My name is Shila Wattamwar. I thought I’d start off by sharing a little bit about myself.
I am of South Asian decent and have lived in culinary heavens like Toronto, Chicago, New York & a small New Jersey town full of great ethnic cuisines called Cliffside Park.
Based on this, and the fact that I absolutely love to travel and try foods from around the world, I’ve had to fortune to be exposed to a lot of amazing food! And no matter what I’ve tried; be it from a Micheline Star Restaurant, a street cart, a hole in the wall food joint, a farmer’s market or a relative’s house, I continue to always most enjoy foods that are rich in simple vegetables, grains and spices. They just satisfy all of my senses.
This site and these recipes is an ode to the styles of cooking that I’ve enjoyed and felt inspired by most.
Aside from cooking, I have 2 young boys and a husband all whom also LOVE food, along with a demanding career that keeps me busy! I find my balance through meditation, workouts and cooking.
I’ve grown to love cooking, but more than the art of cooking itself, I find my peace in keeping me and my family healthy.
